Go Hoop Day kicks off today for the 2nd time ever with celebrations all over the U.S. Thousands of people got outside, in the gym or wherever there was a ball and a hoop to celebrate the game we all love. I was able to get out and get a few shots up but I wanted to celebrate the best way I know how to today. Thank you basketball for providing infinite inspiration. I hope my work reminds you of why you love the game.

6.13.19 - The Final Golden State Warriors Game will be played in Oakland before moving to San Francisco.
I’ve been going to watch the warriors in Oakland since Sleepy Floyd was getting buckets. I’ve cheered a last place team with Earl Boykins who would hit for 30 on a cold Wednesday night with the crowd as loud as they are watching the Finals vs. Lebron. (maybe louder). Studied Tim Hardaway’s game (my favorite player) even before RUN TMC was diagnosed. RUN TMC wasn’t together long enough. I got excited when we got the 1st draft pick and got Cwebb to join “RUN TM-Spree” - Got sad when we drafted Todd Fuller. 🤮. Was pissed when they changed the uniforms to the lightning bolt but the brand of basketball with a young Jason Richardson, GILBERT Arenas and ANTWON Jamison lit the fire for Baron Davis, matt Barnes, Stephen Jackson to make a run and open the doors to the first wave of bandwagoneers (you know who you are ) - The Monta era was full of hope but when new owners and Bob Meyers took the reigns shit got real. Can’t thank Bob enough for architecting the Splash Bros and then Hampton’s 5.
Even living through our current day dynasty, the games most remembered are sellouts against the nuggets just to yell at an old Bimbo Coles and Mark Price. We earned this dynasty.
It’s gonna be the same after today. The makeup of the fans and culture on there east bay shaped the character of this team. Thanks for creating one of the most iconic culturally relevant sports teams ever. Now don’t go and get bourgois on us. Forever Town Business #fuckgentrification
NBA FINALS BOOTLEG (B)ART MURAL
A new mural installed at Boys Don't Cry in NY, in honor of The NBA Finals. As in all of my work, a level of detail and authenticity is what inspired the latest work. Located on The Lower East Side’s iconic Orchard St. I wanted to make sure that I was able to convey the neighborhood, the people, shops and culture that presided before today. See how many people you can identify.
Also be sure to check out the other NBA Finals inspired works are also on display throughout The summer.
For the art collectors out there I created one, 20’ X 20” Original Digital Illustration is available here

THE DOC SPORT CLUB RECAP
In the spirit of March Madness, I created an art show called “ THE DOC SPORT CLUB, Love vs. Money” in NYC.
If you weren’t able to see it in person, you can now see it and the inspiration behind it by clicking on the image above. It was an amazing experience and thanks to everyone that helped put on an amazing show!
Look for the next show in the next few months.
Long Live The Oakland Warriors
I’ve grew up at this arena. Saw teams come and go, players win and lose. But us as fans have supported no matter who is out there. Even though the fanbase becomes more and more “gentrified”, you can’t take the soul out of the team. It’s inevitable for the fanbase to change, I just hope it doesn’t effect the way I feel about the team. We’ll have to wait and see. #townBiz

BALL HARDER - OAKLANDISH RECAP
It all starts with a simple doodle. An idea which transforms into reality once it hits the paper. As a veteran in both the basketball and design field, Dustin Canalin has been turning his doodles into some of the most recognized products for the past 2 decades. Whether it’s through UNDRCRWN, a company which he founded, or Nike Basketball, where his work has been celebrated worldwide amongst athletes, celebrities and fans alike.
BALL HARDER VOL 1, “The Bay” Edition is inspired by Canalin’s roots in Oakland. Through this collection of illustrated doodles, he extends the spirit of “The Town” and all of its cultural touchstones.
The spirit of “Ball Harder” stems from Canalin’s own life experience:
“Every time I reach a milestone, a new set of challenges also arrive. It has kept me motivated and reminded me that you have to constantly push yourself to be and do better. The cycle never ends. You just have to Ball Harder!"
BALL HARDER NYC LAUNCH RECAP
On 10/26/18 I launched my very first art project, “BALL HARDER - Vol. 1, The Bay Edition” which came about by all the random sketches & doodle, that lead to big product ideas for the past 2 decades. BALL HARDER VOL 1., “The Bay” Edition is inspired by my roots in Oakland and the spirit and hustle of “The Town”.
Every time I reach a milestone, a new set of challenges also arrive. It has kept me motivated and reminded me that you have to constantly push yourself to be and do better. The cycle never ends. You just have to Ball Harder!
The event brought together friends & collegues from the fashion, sports, sneaker and art communities. For all that came, Thank You! For those that missed it, there will be more. I’m just getting started.
BIGGIE LIVES ON FOREVER
On this day we honor Biggie and his influence on not only me,it an entire industry and culture.
This short was originally released in 2005.
We also created a shoe with adidas, a jersey to match and countless other items throughout the years. It's amazing to see how many we've inspired simply by deconstructing things that our culture was built on. The Chicago Bulls silhouette and the sweater worn in the infamous Biggie photo shoot are used as assets for the culture today.

NBA Player Identity Project / James Harden
Next up in my NBA Player ID Project is @jharden13
This logo illustrates James' "stirring the pot".
His style and look has a retro feel so I wanted to carry that over to his identity.
I was inspired by classic advertisements, art & posters of the 50's & 60's as well as vintage barber shop, men care advertisements.
The combination of the serifs and a playful hands were used to illustrate motion.
